COMMUNITY OUTREACH LIAISON

Immediate Opportunity - Full-time Community Outreach Liaison.

Our client, the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) Purple Line Project, is seeking a full-time Community Outreach Liaison. Incumbent will be responsible for contributing to the Outreach Team through constituent relations including in person events, community engagement, incoming calls from the public, and serving as a Purple Line Liaison for individuals and groups along the alignment; Co-Manage and support the ongoing Community Advisory Team (CAT); Serve as the lead for all outreach efforts and communications; develop strategies and oversee preparation of outreach materials; participate in regular community outreach events; review and edit all presentation materials; coordinate responses to and route to the appropriate staff, project phone and email inquiries; participate in meetings and public events as needed; develop project materials, plans and reports as required by the project.

This position requires occasional travel for client and public meetings, and the desire and ability to work with the public. Some evening public meeting attendance, either in-person or virtually, is an integral part of this job.

Education/Experience:
Two years minimum public outreach or client experience; Excellent communication skills (both verbally and written). Customer Call Center Experience and Bachelor’s degree are pluses but not required.

Skills:
To perform this job successfully, candidate must have excellent public interaction and writing skills; have an outgoing and positive attitude; ability to be empathetic to diverse cultures and age groups; be highly detailed and self-starter; ability to multi-task and switch gears quickly; good working knowledge of Microsoft Office a must.

Must have reliable transportation.
