Energy Task Force Report
to the Governor - Bright Ideas for
Delaware's Energy Future
State of Delaware
The
Delaware Energy Task Force commissioned Remline to assist them in
developing a less technical Executive Summary of the Energy Task
Force's 164-page Report to the Governor. The goal for the Executive
Summary was to explain the committee's year-long mission of anticipating
and addressing short and long-term issues that will impact Delaware's
energy future. Remline's objective was to present the key elements
with clear language and colorful graphics.
Beginning
with the technical information, Remline worked with the client to
simplify the material and pull the reader along with compelling
headlines, subheads and text call-outs. Complex concepts were explained
not only in text, but with graphic demonstrations and illustrations,
such as where Delaware's energy supply comes from and how energy
use impacts our air quality. The use of these techniques provided
for a graphically exciting document that would compel the reader
to discover the challenges, then learn of the possible options in
the strategies and recommendations section. "Actions in Progress"
call-outs make the point that many solutions are already in progress.
The
Energy Task Force presented the Executive Summary, titled Bright
Ideas for Delaware's Energy Future, to the Governor along with
their full-length final Report. These documents provide recommendations
to assist decision-makers in shaping the future of energy use in
Delaware. Remline created electronic files of the Executive Summary
for viewing on the Governor's website, and also designed CD packaging
for distribution of the Report to legislators and key stakeholders.
